15th Annual e-Assessment Question Conference and Exhibition
‘e-Assessment: commissioning, implementing and delivering’
15th annual conference and exhibition
America Square Conference Centre
City of London
on 22nd and 23rd March 2017
Computer based assessment has grown significantly since the early days of automatic test publishing and certification. We have seen developments like paperless examination projects, e-proctoring, open badges, social media, BYOD, the growth of e-portfolios, the proliferation of question types, the rise of government initiatives and policies following FELTAG, Sainsbury and Curriculum changes, the expectations of digital natives and rapid changes in technology.
The path has been slow and inexorable but hardly smooth, the need to manage risk and costs as important as drive for innovation and the expectations of the users.
The focus for the 15th annual international e-Assessment Question was on the practical issues of commissioning, implementing and delivering e-Assessment solutions.
A date for your diary
The e-Assessment Question next year will be held on 18th and 19th April 2018
at America square Conference Centre, London
This year also marked the introduction by the e-Assessment Association of the first e-Assessment Awards which will be announced at a gala dinner to be held on the evening of the 22nd March 2017. We worked with the eAA to ensure that these new awards were a success and become a permanent feature of the e-Assessment Question Conference. Delegates to the conference could optionally book their place at the dinner for an additional fee of £100 when booking for the conference.
There is a lot happening in the world of e-Assessment,
new forms of certification and qualifications
advanced and psychometrically calibrated testing tools,
integration with learning and back-office systems,
the demands of digital natives, and the implications of digital divides,
cloud based activities and developments,
digital apprenticeships and their end point assessments (EPAs)
social media and peer assessment
gamification and scenario based assessment,
data mining of assessment data,
volume processing and on demand certification etc.
are all happening now.
Exciting yes, but also challenging with the need to delivery coffective, robust, reliable and fit for purpose assessments.
